We thrive on purpose is a philosophical work of art about meaning as a condition of life.
Philosophical anchor
The work stands at the intersection of virtue ethics, existentialism, and pragmatic thought: it explores purpose not as something that is merely found, but as something created and lived. “We thrive on purpose” points to a human experience: that we can be well without everything being easy—but rarely without something feeling meaningful. Here, purpose does not become a slogan, but a direction that can carry us through doubt, friction, and choices. When purpose becomes a responsibility to life, well-being becomes more than comfort—it becomes a way of being in the world. We thrive on purpose. But what purpose do you actually live by—and who gave it to you?

- 50 × 70 cm: a clear focal point in a room.
- 70 × 100 cm: for a larger wall, above a sofa or sideboard.
Measure your wall and mark out the size with masking tape before choosing.
Handling & care
Your Pontoppidan Art print deserves care. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity to protect the paper and colours. Handle the print with clean, dry hands and hold it gently by the edges. Framing behind glass helps protect it from dust and touching. Dust the frame with a soft, dry cloth and avoid applying cleaning products directly to the print.
About Pontoppidan Art
Pontoppidan Art is my artistic project, where philosophy becomes visual art. I paint to think — and to give others something to think with. Through images, words, colours and materials, I explore human experiences and tensions between thought and feeling. My aim is to make room for philosophical knowledge, curiosity and reflection in everyday life. Each work opens a question you can take into your own life.

Philosophical anchor
A philosophical anchor is the thought and question a work begins with. It may be rooted in a philosophical tradition, a concept or a human experience.
The anchor offers a way into the work and leaves room for your own interpretation — an invitation to think with art.
